Karen Dunn Discusses Combatting Extremism and the Need for Holocaust Education at Chicago Next Generation Event
Litigation partner Karen Dunn was a featured speaker at an event, Bold Voices Against Extremism, hosted by Chicago Next Generation. Karen and Jason Van Tatenhove, who was formerly involved with the Oath Keepers extremist group and is now a distinguished author, journalist and advocate against extremism, discussed the rise of antisemitism; how extremism is becoming mainstreamed; what is luring people to hate groups; and why the need for Holocaust education has never been more critical.
The event also drew on Karen’s experience in court trying the landmark case against the neo-Nazi and white supremacist groups responsible for the violence in Charlottesville, Virginia in 2017.
Chicago Next Generation is a group of emerging philanthropists and leaders in the Chicago area dedicated to supporting the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum’s mission and learning how history can help shape a future different from the past.
The event took place in Chicago on May 16 at 6:30 p.m. CT / 7:30 p.m. ET
